Amazing!! Great start to week 1 Blythe! Have a great weekend!
Hi!! Sounds like everyone has had a great week 1. I've missed a couple of daily check ins (sorry team!) but I have been working out and stayed on track. I've had a couple of big days in my career which took alot of focus this week, but I got there in the end! It was spin class for me today and then rest tomorrow. Have a great weekend everyone!!! :-)
You got the job!!!! JO YOU ARE A CELEB!!!!!
Woohoo Jooooooo!!!!
Hi all! I went for a hike on Saturday, rested on Sunday (though with lots of walking), and this morning did bodyweight core #2 and arms #1 videos.
I’ve not been perfect on diet - travel away from my kitchen is hard, particularly since I stick to a vegetarian diet 95% of the time and people/restaurants often don’t offer lots of non-meat protein. But I’ve tried to stick to the spirit of Lacey’s guidelines and be healthy.
Lacey, a question about your video last night: you talked about working out in terms of hours, but when we do your workouts we only exercise for 20-30 minutes. Should we be doing additional exercise as well as the videos? Like, a half hour on a spin bike as well as 2-3 body part videos?
AWESOME! Restaurants are tough sometimes. Where do you live again B?
Great questions. I'm going to break down how many hours I work out and what I do. Lately, I've been doing 5 hours see below. I think you should work out between 5 - 6 hours/week. Some weeks I will add an hour of cardio. I definitely think you should work out with me at least 5 days a week and incorporate other elements of cardio to complete your 5 to 6 hours of exercise/week. Does that make sense? You can break up the timing however you like!
Monday

65 minutes cardio

When I sent out the 1 MM camp email it said what I recommended for you to do. Did you save that email?
I think I need to build up to 6 hour weekly workouts. Right now I'm at 3 hours. I just follow your videos 5-6 times a week. I probably need to add some cardio time.
Thanks Lacey! I live in NYC and generally cook for myself, but I was out of town over the weekend, which was hard diet-wise.
I flew back to NYC last night and was exhausted today, so listened to my body and rested. I’ll do 1MM tomorrow.
You're the best Joysie!
Happy Wednesday all! I did 1MM today and finished my workout with some stair climbing (the gym is 23 floors below my apartment - I can make the gym-home journey into a workout!). I upped my weights to 20 today, which was a real challenge but felt great. Still can’t do a push-up, especially a tricep push-up, at all. But I’ll keep trying and am excited for more!
You can do it! Lay flat on the ground and try pushing yourself up from that position. Let me know how that goes. You got this!
Great job Blythe!
Hey everyone! I’m checking in for today and yesterday. I did the team workout yesterday. Tonight I did a cardio dance video, the dumbbell arms video, and I felt like I needed to stretch a bit more so I did some yoga. I’m feeling ready for tomorrow’s team workout!
Don't you love dancing with me... I just love that cardio dance. I so wish I was in town when you and Kayla came to visit OXOXOX
Please let me know if I can do anything else to help you guys to succeed in 1 Month Mission.
Thank you Lacey! We’re definitely going to try to come back sometime soon!
Hi team!
Checking in for week 2. I really pushed myself during workout 3. I upped my weights for the bench press and dead lifts and made myself squat lower. I felt really strong. My muscles are complaining today so I'm taking a rest day. Looking forward to workout 4 tomorrow!
Awesome Joysie! Yay for upping weights.
I'm proud of how far you've come Joysie!
We’re halfway through the 1MM videos!
Lacey, can you please talk about how to properly get into bench-press position with weights? I appreciate that you always mention how to put the weights down.
When you lay down you need to make sure you push the small of your back into the bench. You don't want to be tipping to your right or left side which is why you push your navel down for core stabilization. You want your shoulder to elbow to wrist to be at a 90-degree angle while laying on the bench in the start position. When you press up from that 90-degree start position push up so that the dumbbells almost touch in the center of your body. Be sure that the small of your back doesn't come off the bench. You still need to be doing your best to keep your back on the bench and not arched. It is natural for a little arch to occur when pressing up but don't go cray-cray. Then slowly bring those dumbbells back down to start position.
Sound good Blythe?
I meant how to get into the position to do the bench press - is there a proper way to pick up the weights from the floor and get into position with them when we’re lying on our backs about to begin the bench presses?
It's important to always keep your core engaged when doing all exercises and picking weights up or getting into position. When you pick the weights up off the ground you should always get into a deep squat rather than just leaning over.
It's very important to mindful of your shoulder joints. When in doubt drop the weights and start over. Does that make sense? You can also use a pal to spot the weights for you or hand them to you once you're in position. I hope this helps!
Achievement unlocked!!!! Today I was able to do a bicep curl and a FULL extension shoulder press with my grey CLX band. I struggled with that move during 8 Weeks to Change and had to use a lighter resistance band.
That's 'cause you're a god, damn superstar! I lovedddddd your insta story. Thank you for sharing that with me!
That’s amazing Joysie! Great job!
Woo hoo!!!!! So great Joysie!!
Those pants were snug in January then were just right halfway through 8 Weeks to Change. They've probably been loose for a while but I really noticed them falling last week. Woot!
Hey! Need to still take care of week 2 day 2 but ran my 5k race this weekend and ended the week with over 100k steps! Feeing good being so active and working on not letting my stress effect my eating. One day at a time! Happy Monday Eve! We got this squad!
Amazing!!! Congrats on the 5k race Sarah!
One day at a time. We got this!
YAASSSS QUEEN!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I did team workout 4 on Friday, took a rest day Saturday, and did a spin class this morning.
I’m loving the Stone Squad Sunday’s videos on Instagram so far. Has everyone else been watching them?
Great job Maria! Yep, I've been watching... Such amazing content from Coach! Ready and inspired for an epic week 3!!! Yay!!
