If you've been working out for a while, I recommend starting with your dumbbell/med ball weights on the heavier side. If you're new to working out, I recommend starting no lower than 8 lbs. with your dumbbells and 6 lbs. with your med ball. Make sense? Most of the time, you can stick with a light-resistance band as modifications will make each move more or less difficult. And as you progress, you'll up the weights.

I got all my recommended equipment and one of the items was the protein shakes but I don’t know when we drink them - is one drink a replacement for a meal? I watched the nutrition video and totally get the fist of protein and 1/4 cup carbs and VEGGIES 😃. Just not sure where the shakes fit in? Also wondering if I can substitute yogurt with granola for breakfast instead of the protein and veggies? Sorry for all the questions 🤓

The protein shake is a meal. Good question!
You can have yogurt and granola but how much granola... That can get very caloric. Also, it's important to have a ton of veggies during the day to make up for not having them in the morning. Make sense?
I did the bodyweight leg workout - wow that was hard for me and I needed breaks so I am hoping I can build up to where I can just go straight through. I think I will be feeling that all day - I do give it my all I just don't have as much to give right now which is why I am here. You are AMAZING and make this so much fun and make it look easy!! I love that it's short enough that I don't take any time away from my 3 yr old. I may try the arms later today when he is napping.
Ok this is only because you asked me to let you know -- I did bodyweight arms and bodyweight core - I am the worst at pushups so had to go on my knees, the kicks weren't bad but I didn't go across the floor just stayed in position, bear walk is hard because I think my form was awful. If failure is leading me to victory, I have a LOT of victory coming...
For core - flutter was Ok but my flexibility is not great so I can't get my legs that straight, same for helicopter. I can do the mountain climbers just not as fast as you!!! Half the time I am thinking "How does she do that and still be so energetic and joking?" Sharzad is amazing too!! My fitness idols... I appreciate you not only showing me what to do, but making it fun and also teaching me how to eat. I really don't want to fail.
Good morning! I have no idea what to do to improve my flexibility because even stretching isn’t very helpful. But I am about to pick another video or two to do before the kiddo wakes up. Thank you for your motivation and support. I’m excited to be a part of the squad. Nice to have people maybe who won’t give up on you when you feel like you’ve given up on yourself but trying 👍
And I was going to vote tortoise shell glasses - get them and the Oprah too!!

I have been thinking a lot about you and this question. I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.
1. Get a deep tissue massage - When you're busting butt in my workouts just stretching isn't enough. Maybe you can find a massage therapist who can stretch you too. That would be double awesome.
2. You should think about investing in a Theragun... It saves my life. It's super expensive but I think it's worth it.
3. Adding a yoga class to your workout week is a great way to increase your flexibility. Use it lose it as you say. If you just stretch once you won't feel any change. You have to do it consistently.
4. Have a trainer or a fit friend show you how to use a foam core roller. Do you know what that is?

Thanks! The theragun looks really cool but out of reach for me right now so I will see what else I can do on my own. I appreciate all of your advice and am doing everything you say with eating and water and workouts. Sometimes when I want to eat something I shouldn’t, I think - No - Lacey said not to eat that - and I don’t 👍 Thank you for always being there - still don’t know how you do it all and have so much energy.
