Also, get excited because we have multiple special-edition holiday workouts coming out, and our first camp of the year starts January 14th!!
Hey everyone!!!! I joined a weight loss challenge in conjunction with this squad to hold me accountable to the scale. I know, i know...that darn scale!!! I can easily get off track without it, and am trying to let go of that. My last weigh in is Wednesday and then im going to practice staying off of it. My family is spread out and celebrating at various points until January 6th...so late!! Advice for navigating 4 family get togethers between now and then is appreciated. I'm great at staying on track in between. Thanks all!
Hey Gina!
Are you eating differently for the weight loss challenge?
I'm going LIVE at 5 pm PST tomorrow to talk about this but I will give you some thoughts now.
1. Can you do my virtual platform while you travel? I suggest you try to do things with your family that are active. Even going on long family walks. That's a great way to connect and get some exercise in. If you overeat one day make sure to make up for it with a tough workout the next day. Make sense?
2. Don't starve yourself all day... You will go CRAY at dinner. Fuel yourself throughout the day in a healthy way to keep yourself on an even keel. Also, drink lots of water it will help with the stress of the holidays.
3. Enjoy your holiday meals but don't overload your plate. Have a little bit of everything but not a lot of anything. Does that make sense?
4. Don't try to lose weight over the holidays. Never in my entire career have I seen someone be successful with this. The holidays aren't for weight loss they are for soul gain. An important part of being healthy is mental health as well as physical health. I think you need to give yourself a break and make the holidays a time to enjoy connecting with people that you love and really reminiscing on the year. People tend to be tired toward the end of the year with all the parties, so it’s like… get your rest, get your spirit back, fill that up, get that fit so you can turn 2019 into an awesome year!
You feel me Gina?
I feel you, girl. And yes, that all makes sense. I wasn't really eating differently while on the challenge. My goal was to not gain weight over the 5 weeks it ran...i finished down 2, and was thrilled with that considering all of the get togethers with food and booze that I ate like an asshole at.
I can totally hit up the platform for workouts and also planned on getting a day pass for the athletic club too. Food is my weakness during the holidays but I'm really good at making sure I hit the workouts hard. Im sure we will get some activity intaking family hikes and playing with the dogs, and kids.
Not starving myself all day is a good tip. Honestly guilty of that all the damn time. All good advice....thanks !!!
Ps....great live on insta last night. Very honest, very real. Holidays are hard. I lost a brother many years ago and Christmas eve is always a rough night to think about that. Squeeze your loved ones....tell them how much they mean to you. ♡♡♡♡ sending love to the whole squad!!!! XO
Let's keep each other honest over the holidays, Gina! You know where to find me... Sending you so much love!
