Workout #3 done and I'm sore. The weather has been nice in LA so I've been doing long runs plus the workout videos. Holy moly. This one was challenging but I had fun doing it. How is everyone doing with food? I really want a giant glass of red wine but instead I shall eat a handfull of nuts, some detox water, take a shower and crash with my puppies.

Hey everyone!!! Sliding in late to the party. I've been a part of the squad since the start, but took some time away from the boards to complete a lifting program and increase my running. I've learned that I tend to burn out when doing things for too long and sometimes that leads to falling off the wagon completely. Fortunately I now know that variety is my spice of life....so I've been doing workouts on the platform with a dash of boxing, yoga, lifting, and running and just not posting. I need to reconnect with the squad, so im prioritizing check ins and thinking of my new set of goals.
Welcome back GINA!!! I love that you are using your off team days to mix it up. Boxing, running, and yoga are great compliments to the LSF workouts. I'm excited to see how you do in your comeback!
New goals: consistent workouts 6 days a week, improve strength by pushing to lift heavier, and cut the shit in my diet. The sneak has been happening...bite here, taste there...gotta knock that off!!

I just joined and started the 8 weeks to Change challenge last night. I did the fitness test and due to a bad knee (I have had 2 knee surgeries in the past year), I'm unable to do the reverse lung or lunges at all for that matter. Do you have something I can do in place of the lungs?

Thank you. I tried forward lunges as well and was unable to do them. It hurts my knee.
What are you doing in the interim to take care of your knees? Have you ever heard of a Theragun? https://bit.ly/2VaoQSB Also, it helps to ice them and get a weekly massage even if it's coming from yourself.

How is everyone else doing on their food/workout? Working out is never an issue with me . It is my stress reliever. Food is my weakness. I especially love bread and pasta dishes. In previous challenges, I make to about week 3 and I start to crumble. I'm working really hard to stay focus and not slip up.
Hey Kate!!! I'm with ya....food. I set a few goals to watch my portion sizes on the carbs and really load up on the veggies. We can do this....♡

I started the challenge on the start day. My coworker, Crystal, just started last week.
Heads up - I am up for an award at work. They announce the winners at a formal dinner this Friday. I’m 100% positive I will break the no alcohol rule! But I promise not to go crazy!

I've had a hard time the past two days with getting my workouts in. As for eating healthy. I do good eating during the day but when I get home I go down hill. I'm going to regroup this weekend and try to meal prep which always helps.
I'm meal prepping this weekend too!! Loads of salad, veggie, and lean protein prep happening here. I think i might make overnight oats too....i love those in the morning with a little extra protein powder in them.

I have to say, I’m really loving this 8 week program! I’ve now gotten my coworkers in on the fun and we are doing planks at work. Today we did 3 through lunch at 90 seconds each with no stopping! When we did the fit test I had to stop 4 times so I’m pretty proud. Keep up the good work everyone! We got this!
Ha!!! That's awesome....and incredible progress too. I work from home, I'm going to have to start making my dogs play along. :)

Question for Lacey - for the 8 weeks to change do all these videos come off the site in 8 weeks? Some of us (me) might need longer to catch up for times on the medical bench which has happened to me a lot this year. It’s not lack of commitment it’s lack of dr clearing me.... but i get it that 8 weeks is 8 weeks or it would be called something else.... thanks !
What do you mean Tara? You mean you have to take a break sometimes? That's ok you just have to stay with the food program. My clients in LA have to travel for a week all the time. It's part of being a successful well-rounded adult. Is that what you mean? And yes... It's called 8WTC for a reason hahah!
No I wish I didn't have to take a break - I have chronic vein insufficiency and have had a phlebectomy in my left leg which put me out for a while until I healed. Now I am going through rounds of sclerotherapy to force the blood to healthy veins. So each session of that benches me for two weeks and I wear these lovely medieval compression hose. I have never been obese but have had 4 kids and my job requires I sit at a desk a lot - so I really NEED to do these workouts. I know this all may sound cosmetic and the "upside" is my vein work does improve the look of my legs but the point is to reroute the blood flow to veins that are stronger. So this week I can start back to the videos but I worry that the videos will be gone and I won't finish the 8 weeks so maybe I just do the best I can and I should be done with the sclero for a while after the last session I just had. Sorry for all that!! I've been doing "Meh" on the food- really good for breakfast and lunch it's that late afternoon time that I can crash into a bag of chips if I don't keep myself busy. Kayla and I got to work out together yesterday. It’s always more fun when you get to work out with someone else. I usually only do two videos on the off days but she pushed me to do three and it felt great (after we were done haha). Have a great week everyone!

Week 4 is going to be insane for me. I actually move this week from CA to Arizona. Gulp. I did a cardio workout today but the rest of the week will be tricky. Just really takes a lot of planning. Excited for the videos this week and proving to myself that if I plan accordingly and I prioritize my health, it's all possible. Proud of my lady superheros. Let's go!

The move went well! Today was my first official full day in Arizona and it was HOT. I wanted to run but it was 101!!!! I need to wake up at like 6am for these runs. I start my new job tomorrow and they have a great gym. I'm excited to get back into the swing of it tomorrow. Hopefully moving boxes, bags, etc. counts as weights and cardio. Thanks for checking in on me, team!!!!!

Hello! I kinda checked out. The sudden death of my 7 year old niece two weeks ago really did me in. It is still raw. Funeral was only this past Saturday. I am gonna be okay. Life can be cruel some times, and stressful, and just busy... selfcare is even more needed now. I must have strayed so many times already from this 8 weeks to change but I’ve always gotten back on the path. If anything, posts here from you all + insta posts inspire and bring joy. You make me feel like I can do this. I am doing this. When I’m feeling brave enough I will post pics. Hugs, props and 💪🙌👏. Lacey, 🙏😍!!
Oh honey.... I am so so sorry you are having to cope with such a hard lose. My sister is going into surgery on her heart tomorrow and I’m freaking out a little... Being brave and keeping the love in our hearts is all we can do. I’m here for you Elaine and so is the squad. Thank you for sharing this with us!

Oh No Elaine!!! I am so so sorry for your loss. I know there are no words adequate enough to help you feel better. All I can think of is how awful this must be for you and your family. I am just shocked to read this. We have been virtual squad buds all through this - big hugs to you and know I am here for you. Self care is right - whatever you need is what you need, and in my opinion you have to choose what you need. You will get back on the path when you are ready. XOXO

One story that was told at my niece’s funeral was that her grandmother complained one night: “ I think I am getting fat.” Keagan responded: “ Ok then! Let’s do squats!!” Keagan Alexis Steele was the sweetest motivator.
